PEP MULET, UNO DE LOS NUESTROS

Para esta segunda entrega de “uno de los nuestros” tiramos de un amigo, incluso a veces confidente que sin duda es parte de La Familia, el SEÑOR, con mayusculas, Pep Mulet. Gran músico que compartimos la pasión por las dos ruedas y los trastos con actitud.

For this second installment of “uno de los nuestros,” we turned to a friend, sometimes even a confidant, who is undoubtedly part of the Family: the ONE and only, Pep Mulet. A great musician with whom we share a passion for motorcycles and gadgets with attitude.

¿CÓMO FUERON TUS COMIENZOS?
Tendría unos 7 años. En el Opel Corsa de mi padre siempre sonaba una cinta de cassette: Pet Sounds de The Beach Boys. Acompañaba nuestros trayectos entre Palma y Sencelles y, sin saber muy bien cómo explicarlo, ahí supe al 100 % que quería vivir sobre un escenario.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I was about 7 years old. In my father’s Opel Corsa, there was always a cassette tape playing: Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys. It accompanied our journeys between Palma and Sencelles, and, without really knowing how to explain it, that’s when I knew 100% that I wanted to make a living on stage.

PROYECTOS (ACTUALES / FUTUROS)
Ahora mismo, mi foco y máxima prioridad es Amura, una banda de indie en castellano que hemos montado varios miembros de la formación clásica de L.A.: Ángel Cubero, Dimas Frías y yo. A la banda se suman Alejandro Jordá (Izal) y Toni Morales, un músico con un talento espectacular.
En breve estrenaremos nueva música y anunciaremos conciertos. Estamos viviendo una segunda juventud en esto de la música.

PROJECTS (CURRENT / FUTURE)
Right now, my focus and top priority is Amura, a Spanish-language indie band formed by several members of the classic L.A. lineup: Ángel Cubero, Dimas Frías, and myself. Alejandro Jordá (Izal) and Toni Morales, a musician with spectacular talent, have also joined the band.
We’ll be releasing new music and announcing concerts soon. We’re experiencing a second wind in our music careers.

INFLUENCIAS
¡Buah! Desde Judas Priest, Helloween y toda la amalgama, rincones y profundidades del heavy clásico de los 60, 70, 80 y 90, hasta el folk americana de Jason Isbell, pasando por John Mayer o Sara Bareilles.

INFLUENCES
Wow! From Judas Priest, Helloween and the whole amalgam, corners and depths of classic heavy metal from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, to the Americana folk of Jason Isbell, passing through John Mayer or Sara Bareilles.

ESTILOS PREFERIDOS
Me encanta el rock/metal progresivo, desde Rush hasta Periphery. El retro synth que hacen The Midnight es absolutamente cardinal para mí. Y el rock —o como quieras llamarlo— que hacen Mötorhead me tiene completamente enamorado.

PREFERRED STYLES
I love progressive rock/metal, from Rush to Periphery. The retro synth sound of The Midnight is absolutely essential to me. And the rock—or whatever you want to call it—that Motörhead plays has me completely smitten.

UN DESEO
Poder volver a los escenarios muy de vez en cuando con Amura y, a nivel familiar, ver crecer felices y sanos a mis hijos.

A WISH
To be able to return to the stage every now and then with Amura and, on a family level, to see my children grow up happy and healthy.
